Alves de Sousa, Caldas White Port 10YO (500ml)

Located in the heart of the Douro Valley, the Alves de Sousa family have been making wines in their 25 ha of vineyards named "Quinta da Gaivosa" now for 5 generations. Using a holistic approach to farming by combining nature, a shared history and a personal flair for indigenous grape varieties, Alves de Sousa proudly make properly authentic Portuguese wine. Caldas White 10YO Port (500ml) is made from a blend of Malvasia, Viosinho and Verdelho. Amber in colour, the nose is utterly complex, full of herbs, spices, dried orange peel, maple syrup and almonds. The palate is full-bodied and wonderfully refined by the additional ripening period the grapes undergo, with the flavour combining hints of marmalade, caramel and almond paste. A great wine to pair with your next cheeseboard.
